The boggart scene with the clown...

Don't know if this has been talked about before, but the part when it was Parvati's turn and she turned her biggest fear of snakes into the clown. Did anyone think the clown was actually WAY creepier than the snake? Holy crap that giant clown moving back and forth was disturbing! Lol

Yes lol

Ditto.

reply

Yeah. Might as well shapeshift into a Chucky. Even the Dementor-shaped boggart looks way cooler than that.

reply

The clown was actually a jack-in-a-box.
You know a toy for little kids.

It was just a giant one.

reply

Hell yes.

The stuff nightmares are made of.

I'm going to have to agree with that. I'd have much preferred to see her boggart as a mummy, then fall apart like it was in a cartoon as it happened in the book.
Plus, I think the scene on the whole wasn't done as well as it was in the novel. There was a sense of the entire class teaming up to overcome their fears, with Neville deaing the final blow. It was a bit of a 'punch the air moment'. Not only that, but in the book we never actually saw the boggart become the dementor, because Lupin stepped in before Harry had the chance to fight it, even though that's what the characters in the film said that was what happened, so it didn't make sense.

reply

Agreed. Lol!

reply

Didn't bother me the least. I'd punch the clown in the head.
