zodiac signs curiosity

These are all characters/actors that appeared in 2 or more episodes, sorted into zodiac birthsigns:

Aries - Mal (Nathan Fillion), Dr Simon Tam (Sean Maher)
Taurus - Zoe (Gina Torres), Saffron (Christina Hendricks)
Gemini - Kaylee (Jewel Staite), Inara (Morena Baccarin), Badger (Mark Sheppard)
Cancer - Shepherd Book (Ron Glass)
Leo - River Tam (Summer Glau)
Virgo -
Libra -
Scorpio -
Saggitarius -
Capricorn -
Aquarius -
Pisces - Wash (Alan Tudyk), Jayne (Adam Baldwin), Adelai Niska (Michael Fairman)

There is also Jeff Ricketts and Dennis Cockrum, the Blue Glove Men, who dont have a birthday specified, so I dont know if they fit into the pattern.

So its exclusively the so-called "subjective" birthsigns (Pisces to Leo), not the so-called "objective" birthsigns (Virgo to Aquarius). Which is one hell of a chance - as if somebody actively planned to do it this way.

The answer is fairly simple: Watch Battlestar Galatica. In the BSG/Firefly universe, those are not "birthsigns." They are much more significant.

Watch both the original series (1978) and the remake. You'll see the significance of the zodiac. I won't spoil it for you, but it's rather interesting and it's clear that Firefly makes HUGH references to BSG. For without BSG, there would be no Serenity as Serenity Vale was first colonized during the events of BSG.

If you watch the original series, you'll see an extremely ancient version of Serenity Vale in episode 10. I say "extremely ancient" because BSG happens thousands of years before Firefly.
