Connection to Battlestar Galatica (1978)

So basically the end of "The Magnificent Warriors (s01e10)" is the beginning of Firefly? Sorry, but there is no way in hell it's a coincidence that Battlestar Galatica bleeds into Firefly so easily. Both the ending of "The Magnificent Warriors" and the beginning of Firefly take place in Serenity Vale. In addition to the name, the following things are exactly the same in Battlestar Galatica and Firefly:
1) Serenity is located on a far-flung human settlement
2) Serenity is basically the Wild-West complete with six shooters and cowboy clothes.
3) Serenity is a lush environment that's a hotspot for inter-stellar contention.
4) The main form of locomotion are horses!

Either Firefly directly copied Battlestar Galatica or the planet was intended to be incorporated into the Firefly universe. Considering that Battlestar Galatica happens hundreds of thousands of years before Firefly, it might just be the same planet.
