Mumblings from Fox pres about being open to a reboot - chances?

I'd welcome it. Post-Serenity, and with a mix of old cast and new, so that the storylines are a mix of the BDH and new characters. There are a lot more stories that could be told in the 'verse.

What are you saying? What is BDH, and where did you hear mumblings? sources?

BDH is Big Damn Heroes.

And yes, I would like to see the sources too.

Fox Open to Firefly Reboot if Joss Whedon Wants To

Given the success of Fox's reboots of The X-Files and 24, and Prison Break returning this year, [Fox Broadcasting President of Entertainment David] Madden said he'd be open to a Firefly reboot if Joss Whedon himself wanted to revisit it.  Madden suspects Whedon is now too busy with movies, and he would not consider doing Firefly without Whedon.

Sadly, this is almost a decade too late.

Joss was still working with FOX in 2009, but after they treated Dollhouse as they did, I don't really see a chance that this will come into fruition.

The funny thing is that I still did not see any official response from Joss. I would like to hear him react to this, gorram it!

I think they treated Dollhouse a little better than I expected. It was actually given a renewal for a second season. Even Joss has said he was surprised since it gave him a chance to wrap up most storylines.

Do you see a snowball's chance in hell that Joss would grab this opportunity to pick Firefly up again with FOX?

Nah. Everyone's pretty much moved on. I think the fans are the only ones still really hanging on.

Being a huge fan, I would still really like to see maybe a reboot of Firefly from Joss. My ideal scenario would be to ditch the comics and Serenity, bring back Mal, Zoe, Wash and Kaylee, Simon and River (maybe not all of them at once, maybe some of them would only appear in certain episodes) then bring in some fresh new characters and a new threat.

This Joss could do. And sadly, the silence is very telling. He did not jump on this chance, and he did not even respond officially on it. Which is very-very sad...

Interesting. Alas I'd say chances are rather low. Whedon has signaled in the past that he feels Firefly's time is done.
