May's character near the end

Why is it she suddenly sounds so confident after she decides to build a friend? The whole movie shes this shy awkward person who can barely say 3 words to someone. Then at the end she becomes a completely different person and has so much confidence in her voice when speaking and the shyness was gone. She was like a different character.

I get that she went full on psycho but it just seems weird that she suddenly became this new person whos no longer nervous or shy and speaks perfectly to people.

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

I don't think she was May any longer. She was the doll, or rather she full-on disassociated and became everything the doll represented for her.

That sounds right. Turned into a blank and cold representation of what she interpreted as the beautiful doll she had as her best friend, and the beauty and confidence her mother pressured her to have.
