Season 5, episode 6: awful photography!!!

Belgium ahoy!
Big fans of JJD here, but what the *bleep* was going on in season five episode six Popular Appeal ("big brother show"-killing)?
The photography and editing look like East Enders!!!
Moving cameras and horrible close-ups...
What happened to the soft lighting and stills?
Did they use a film student to do the last episode???

One Dissapointed Lady

I agree. What makes/made the series so watchable and engrossing was the absence of jerky close up scenes such as the Bill went for. I like context filming. I like to see characters and their environment. Not just jerky faces..!

I'm watching the episode Popular Appeal now for the first time, and you're right, the photography quality seems sub-standard to say the least. What happened, budget cuts?

I really like John Deed and the Popular Appeal storyline is compelling!
