well made, atrociously written

i went into this thinking it would be godawful but i was kinda surprised that the film is well made. great sense of pacing and suspense. really good cinematography, music, editing, etc. the opening sequence is really well done, and i also really like the dream sequence where the creeper throws the shuriken star. there are lots of other good little moments that remind me a lot of Sam Raimi and i'd like to say the director is quite good at what he does.

but unfortunately, his screenplay is TERRIBLE. the characters are all insanely stupid and unlikable and spout some of the most forced dialog ever. nearly every decision they made was beyond braindead. the whole gay subplot was pointless and the racism angle felt like it should've been set in the 60's. also the director likes to rape little boys and puts his pedo fetishes all over the movie (shirtless teens peeing and carressing eachother).

if the director wasn't a pedo and didnt write his own scripts, he'd be a good director. too bad he's too busy thinking about boy weiners to focus on good writing.
