Mountains in Florida??

I've been to FL many tomes and I remember it being flat as a pancake, but where Taggert lives is quite mountainous. Doesn't seem like Poho County FL.

I don't know where the setting of the second movie was supposed to take place but it was obviously filmed in California. If you've ever been to California during summer and fall, the hills around California pretty much dries up into a yellow and gold color. It's part of the chaparral eco-region in California which is found along the Central Coast and lower foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Right that makes sense, but they mention on the radio the same counties as JC1, so it's meant to be local. Guess it just looked more cinematic :-)

The first one being filmed primarily in Florida (Mount Dora, Lake County mainly) and this one being filmed in Cali, it's probably just due to budget. Maybe they got a better deal. Either way, most of the movie is dark, so many won't notice the differences in aesthetics.

i just noticed that too, lol. i lived in north florida for a chunk of my childhood. the shot of the mountains at the beginning of the movie made me laugh out loud.
