The underwater shots made me feel claustrophobic...
I almost couldn't breath, lol. If that's the effect they were going for, it worked...for me anyway.
shareJudging from a few statements on the DVD commentary, that's exactly what they were going for IMHO. The intent was to show that this sport is VERY dangerous and that female surfers should be as respected as male ones. Kate, Michelle and Sanoe all talk about how terrifying it is to be caught up in what Michelle calls a "washing machine" and how much your lungs ache and burn when you're out of air.
