There is a mermaid I tell you! right at the end after he tells her she owes him some surfing lessons and she suggests the spot the competition spot, and as we see the massive wave forming there is a mermaid tail going under the wave! MERMAID! I SEEN IT!

also saw the "mermaid" as she was wiping out in the competition. it was a large orange underwater camera going underwater for the shot. the person's right hand is clearly visible.
i saw the "mermaid" in the shot you were referring to also. it was one of the flippers from the underwater cameramen.
I wish I could swim with a Mermaid in real life :(

I know when ur referring unlike another who thought u meant earlier in the competition..it was after it was all done and like u said he said u owe me some lessons she goes u wanna go out there now? And as they panned the camera out to the waves u did see flippers and one lonely surfer on far left of screen and the flippers u see are on right half of screen and since no one else's was in water where did the flippers come from I kinda thought maybe a seal
