What movie(s) would you consider worse than this? If I had to pick one, I'd probably pick "Battlefield Earth". But I still think "Gigli" was the worst movie I've ever seen. Your turn :o)
Yeah, sad when the public thinks a director is bad enough to put together a petition to keep him from directing another movie.
That said... The only worse movie I've seen was some vampire musical (the box said absolutely nothing about the movie being a musical). I got about 2 minutes in and had to shut it off. And I have a high, very high, maybe too high, tolerance for bad movies. Maybe Uwe Boll directed it?
BUAHAH yeah Uwe Boll is the worst director/writer to walk this earth.
Anyways I'll say "Glitter" was worst than this. Atleast Gigli had actors who've proven their acting skills at one point in their career, not in the this film however.. and the writing... lord have mercy. Just thing about Gigli and Glitter together is vomit inducing.
Well, for starters, from 2003, just off the top of my head, there's Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Bad Boys II, Scary Movie 3, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Gothika, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Shangai Knights, Matrix Revolutions, The Cat In The Hat, Spy Kids 3D
Others? The Crow: City of Angles, Eight Crazy Nights, Noah's Ark 1999 (with Jon Voight), Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Conan the Destroyer, every Steven Seagal movie ever made [except Excecutive Decision and MAYBE Hard to Kill and Under Siege], Street Fighter, Domino, Stay Alive, Alexander, Career Opportunities, Child's Play 2, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street Parts 2, 4, 5, and 6, Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinkin' Your Juice In The Hood, Scary Movie 3, Fantastic Four, Highlander 3, Chocolat, King Soloman's Mines, My Summer Of Love, From Dusk Till Dawn... the list goes on and on and on.
This isn't a great film. It isn't a good film. But it isn't the worst film ever made. It isn't even a bad film. It's just a mediocre one. It's well filmed, has an enjoyable tone, has some measure of character development (granted, it doesn't always make sense, but it has some effective character moment), Christopher Walken doing his whole weird thing, some funny bits of dialogue, and a small handful of good dramatic moments. Also, Al Pacino is absolutely dynamic (as you'd expect). Yeah, it doesn't always make sense, the plot is ludicrous, and it goes on at least 25 minutes too long, but it's still a marginally enjoyable flick.
Why is it so hated?
For months and months and months every person who even mentioned the film in print said it was going to suck. The critics fell to peer pressure and insisted on giving it terrible ratings (except for a few top critics - Roger Ebert, James Berardinelli, and Entertainment Weekly gave it * * 1/2 or * * - level grades) without really backing it up. With that kind of publicity, unless it had been as good as Casablanca, it never had a chance. Everyone believed it sucked even if they never saw it. If they did, they just decided it must have stunk because everyone else said it stunk.
The single worse movie ever made hands down period that'll beat any of the one's any of you named on the "stinkodometer" is...... FREDDY GOT FINGERED! That movies was a total waste of time, talent, energy, film, equipment, cameras, man hours, and anything else having to do with the production of a movie. That piece of crap wasn't worth the ink it took to write the screenplay.
I wholeheartedly agree--Freddy Got Fingered sucked so bad, you could smell the stench coming from the video store. I saved myself the eye gouging from this flick by relegating it to my never EVER to be watched for two reasons--Affleck and JLo. Also, not my type of movie--unless they killed those two off LOL.
Glitter House of the Dead Spice World Spiderman 3 All Chucky movies All Freddy movies All Jason movies Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift 28 Days Later Big Mommas House 2 Epic Movie Scary Movie The Cookout Babershop 2:Back in Business Are We There Yet? XXX
I personally enjoyed Gigli also, not saying it was a great movie but there are much worse movies:
Anything with Larry The Cable Guy Any of the remake "Movie"series Epic, Date... All the extra American pies rush hour 3 Rocky 6 all the hip hop dance movies, step up, etc Bring it on and all the following ones all rob schnieder movies the number 23 most of the new horror movies, final destinations and such Last Holiday and on and on
anyone who says FROM DUSK TILL DAWN is one of their worst movies they have ever seen is a complete and utter idiot. I saw it having no clue what it was about, knowing only there would be a bit of violence in the film. It was superb in two parts - the part until they get into Mexico and then the part with the vampires.
Again, if you didn't like that film you ARE a complete and utter FOOL.
I agree with most of your list but I have to dissagree with From Dusk Till Dawn and Chocolat but other than that, you seem to be rather well versed in film. I actually liked Gigli fine. It wasn't a masterpiece but it certainly wasn't garbage either. And I know From Dusk Till Dawn is certainly no masterpiece either but it was a fun movie and wasn't all that badly made. And Chocolat, well, I don't know, I guess I just really liked that one, again, not a masterpiece, but good. I thought it was well made and a cute story, but maybe that's just me. Just my two bits.

Oh no, Johnny Mnemonic.. I've spent far too much energy trying to forget that one... Which I see as the main reason why a worst movie -list is so hard to conceive - these are the ones most of us don't want to remember. Maybe we should just copypaste Keanu's, or "The Dude's" cv here to save time
Hang on. Is that the ones you think are the worst movies you've ever seen?
The Godfather trilogy, Gone With The Wind, Saving Priavte Ryan, and Pulp Fiction are, like, the best movies I've ever seen! Oh, and the book of The Shining book is amazing.
I still say that Moulin Rouge is one of the worst if not the worst movie ever made.It was over hyped maybe not as much a Gigli, but still it was supposed to be a big time movie and turned out to be a pile of crap

I mean, yeah, Gigli wasn't a good movie, but I got some one-liners out of it and a few chuckles. Well, I got some chuckles out of the two movies I mentioned too, but only because I was making fun of the movies, and not really because I thought they were funny. To each his own.
Children of the Corn III is the worst movie EVER. And a close second would be Halloween III. What crap...
Right after Gigli, I think the worst movies after that would be End of Days, The One, Crossroads, The Lion King II, The Garfield Movie, Cool World, Black Point and Assault on Precinct 13.
