This sounds interesting!

I don't know about anyone else, but Home on the Range sounds interesting! I mean, it is an animated adventure of a group of cows on a farm, and the tagline is "Bust a moo" I love it! I can tell that I am going to like it. Lately, I have felt that many of the newer Disney movies like Sinbad and Dreamwork's Treasure Planet aren't even worth seeing. I saw Atlantis and didn't like it very much. Brother Bear doesn't even appeal to me. But this has my attention. I can only imagine! I can't wait! Does anyone know when it is coming out? Has anyone seen a trailer?

You got the movies mixed up.

Sinbad: Legends Of The Seven Seas is the Dreamworks film.

And Treasure Planet is the Disney film.

reply

Sorry. I haven't seen either of them. I was close though! :)

"Spider Psycho, Spider Psycho"-Morph, the little cute pink shape-shifter from TREASURE PLANET

LISTEN TO YOURSELVES! That was horrible. The trailer alone was enough to threaten ripping apart the space-time continuum and throwing us into a horrible dystopia of gut-wrenching nightmares in which all talking cows have to say is, "Yeah, they're real. Stop staring." Dear God, people, save yourselves before it's too late!

reply

Your missing one very important fact. It's Rosanne, as a cow, saying "Yeah, they're real. Stop staring." Therefore it's hilarious!!!

reply

I haven't seen the trailer yet...

Agreed. We have to let go a bit of the traditional Disney movies where the voice actors were basically nonames, just people. Now, it's all about the star power behind the voices. I think the line up looks great, and the better the voices Disney can get, the better the characters will be. Dreamworks and other 2D attempts by non-Disney folk haven't really figured that out yet (See the great stars on Sinbad, then watch the movie-- awful. Too much action, not even dialogue or plot.) But with people like Rosanne, Steve Buscemi... this is going to be fantastic. Not a masterpiece by any means, but definitely part of the "new Disney" classic style (Lilo and Stitch, Emperor's New Groove).

Let's just pray they don't make a sequel. ^_^

I agree- because it is Rosanne, it is hi-larious. Cuba Gooding JR is a great voice for the horse in Home on the Range too. And Randy Quaid? I still think of him as cousin Eddie in all the Vacation films. This is going to be a funny one....imho

True, much in the vein of The Emperor's New Groove (which, incidentally, I thought looked really stupid the first time I saw the trailer, but when I actually saw it, it was awesome). I think no one will REALLY know until it comes out.

reply

I think it might be good too.If Disney dosen't stop making 2-d movies than maybe they might start animating them like this.Atlantis and Treasure Planet weren't all that popular. But Lilo and Stitch and The Emperor's New Groove were hits and this is in the vein of those two movies.A and TP hevaliy used computers in fact I think those two movies are more digitized than any other disney movie. In LS,ENG,and HOTR they hardly use computers and(at least in my opinon)the characters seem slightly cuter since they aren't as realistic as most disney characters are.Not to mention I think these three disney movies were much funnier than the other ones.

I do agree this one looks more fun than Atlantis and Treasure Planet, and more like the better Lilo and Stitch and the even better Emperor's... But I do have to correct someone who said "Emperor's New Groove" was a hit. Even though I own it and love it, it wasn't a hit. It only made 19 Million at the box office. One of the lowest animated sums ever.

reply

ENG made 89 millon,not 19 millon.

Aye Carumba!

reply

ENG made 89 Million world wide. If you see, on IMDB, it says it reached 89 million in April. As you can remember, ENG came out in December, opened with only 9 million dollars. It was not theaters in the US from December-April. It barely lasted a few weeks in US theaters.

reply

ENG was in USA theatres until May 2001...after it made 11 mil its second weekend (vs. 9 mil the first; movie almost NEVER earn MORE over time), Dis tried to pull for it a bit more...

..and it made 89 million domestically. I haven't been able to properly calculate the overseas revenue, but as of 27 May 2001, ENG had pulled in $89,296,573 (USA).

reply

How could a movie last in theaters from December to May? Even Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Titanic, weren't in theaters that long. Impossible.

reply

ENG still took in domestic theatrical grosses (most likely from second run theatres) in February, March, April, and part of May, before it was officially pulled from distribution.

Check the data on the website.

This movie definitely sounds interesting. it has assembled a great cast of actors to play all of the voices and they do a great job of sounding funny and using the fact that most of them play animals to their advantage. the tagline alone "bust a moo!" does make it just look hilarious and after seeing the preview, i definitely caught my attention. i think i am going to go see this when it comes out.

reply

I agree with Schmit- Home on the Range looks like a lot of fun with all the cast voices. And I anticipate this one grossing a lot more that Emperor's New Groove, especially with Sarah Jessica Parker as one of the voices after her Sex and the City fame.

reply

I am definitely seeing this when it comes out, becuase it looks really funny, but I have a feeling that the movie won't be an incredibly big success. I would be surprised if it gets $100,000,000 in the U.S.

~I'd give her a HA! And a HI-YA! And then a OUU-WA! And I'd kick her, sir.~

reply

i think this movie will at least make that! look at shrek and finding nemo. this movie does have a chance.

reply

even though it looks entertainging and better than Disney's recent past of "Atlantis," and "TreasurePlanet," it still put a lot of effort in promoting Novembers "Brother Bear" which ended not being the big success they hoped. So this too will not succeed as much. My guess, total box offce gross, 55-65 Mil.

reply

while there have been other movies recently which were hyped and didn't come through, i feel that this one is different. the way they are promoting it, everything about it seems like disney is trying to build another nemo or shrek, etc. i think this movie may have a chance to hit the 100 million mark. i know i'll be there to check it out!

reply

hey all-just a reminder that Roseanne will be on the late, late show tonight with Craig Kilborn-should be interesting to hear what she says about Home on the Range:)

reply

i saw the show on wednesday and i thought she was hilarious as usual. it looks like she brings her A game, as far as comedy, in this movie.
