here is my reasoning Hellboy was chosen for the early review and only ebert liked it. the probab;ly had the choise to do this movie for the early preview. Now if they both liked this movie why would they do an early review of hellboy instead?
does it really matter? This film is intended for children, tell me when was the last time a 6 year old read a critic's review and based the quality of the film on the critics's analysis and opinions? that's right never.
as a kid, I *always* read the reviews of new movies.
And it most definetly matter to the parents...because they're the ones buying the tickets...
Critic opinions matter because of the fact that bad reviews will turn away a significant portion of the potential audience...resulting in les returns and furthering the destruction of 2D beyond repair.
Unfortunatly that's true. I read critic's opinions but it doesn't stop me from seeing anything I have my heart set on and I never see a movie I'm not sure about. Are that many people really unsure and have to have their mind made up by a critic? Critics just do their job but people don't think enough. :-p
