ANOTHER underrated Paul Schrader film

I dont know what it is... but the man is a genius and no one even realizes it. I've seen most of Schrader's work, American gigolo, hardcore, mishima, light sleeper, this is another masterpiece by paul. the only movies hes remembered for are the scorsese collaborations like taxi driver and raging bull. check out some of his directorial work - its amazing! auto focus was brilliant!

Masterpiece might be a stretch but I completely agree that Schrader is often very overlooked, both as a writer (Scorsese collaborations aside, The Yakuza and Rolling Thunder are sadly forgotten) and as a director. Mishima and his directorial debut, Blue Collar, are very good films, the latter in particular, and Auto Focus is a nice little film in its own right.

That woman deserves her revenge... and we deserve to die.
