Kinnear's puffy lower jaw?

Towards the middle of the "downfall" period, Kinnear's mouth looked like it was swollen, as if there was something stuffed in his mouth, like Brando's Don Corleone. Anyone know why?

There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

one of the actresses in the special features section mentions that he is wearing prostetics as to age him.

It first shows up in the scene where his agent confronts him during the shooting of Superdad.
It was distracting as hell. I though he was chewing tobacco for godssakes.

He also said that his wife had thrown things at him and cut his lip and he needed stitches.

They're called "plumpers" and are in fact, as you said, stuffed into the lower cheeks/jaw area. Even the director admits they look a little obvious but the movie had a smallish budget so guess they did the best they good. But you're right, it was distracting & made him look swollen/puffy rather than ageing him.

I thought they made him seem a bit fatter later in the movie too. Maybe it was just his bigger hair and huge glasses throwing me off. I've always noticed that mouth thing and therefore fully understand why it'd be distracting, especially since it kinda muffled the way he talked and you expect him to start drooling. He's talking like somebody who just had oral surgery and is walking around with gauze in their mouth! Doesn't help that Greg almost kinda talks like that anyway.
