Kinnear's makeup for the 1978-era Crane

In the scene in the parking garage where Crane is served the divorce papers from Patty, I think Kinnear's makeup makes him look like disc jockey Rick Dees.

In the pool scene where Crane does a slow motion dive into the far end of the pool and emerges from the water in close-up, I think Kinnear's makeup makes him look like Bob Costas.

Not a criticism. Just an observation.

He looks absolutely nothing like Bob Crane, so why shouldn't he look like someone else in those scenes? I think it's a dreadful movie, like most biographical films. Surely they could have found SOMEONE who resembles Crane. Kinnear, as much as I like him, totally misses the mark of an impersonation; there's not even a hint of the actor he's portraying.

Oh, I guess he's not bad at crossing his arms like Hogan, but that's it.

What would've helped is: in the Hogan scenes, if they found Kinnear a hat that fit instead of that officer's cap that was four sizes too big. At least the real Crane's hat fit and looked good on him! ;)
