About midway through the movie, the colors and lighting change to less friendly tones and much darker. Earlier in the film, it is very colorful and even the music is more upbeat, but as the film goes on, it gets much more darker as the subject matter does and the music is more downbeat. Brilliant f'ing film.
shareI just saw this movie for the first time last night on Indieplex. Now that you mention it, the whole tone of the movie did change to a darker, morose tone around the halfway mark.
It's an excellent movie, It does an excellent job of telling it's story without being overbearing.
The music definitely became morre eerie toward the end. I also noticed that damn shaking camera, popular at the time. Not sure it was in the beginning, but when i notice it, in any program, i start focusing on it and get annoyed.

I found the film quite boring, and too much on the nudity and sex; plus, the ending seemed rushed.
shareYep it was bright and airy at the beginning and as his life disintegrated it looked more depressing.
