Whilst i was watching this film i was expecting the girl to ride the whale all happy and in the sunlight as the image on some of the dvds and posters looks like she is doing. This scene i was waiting for never came and she never does that pose in the film or in any of the deleted scenes. Did anybody else notice this.

1. She is a good swimmer! The part that she could retrieve grandpa's lost whale teeth is one of the indications. I remember the original story says the little girl does have some mystic power.
2. The little girl became a whale rider in the original story. The original book has more mystic components, the girl was able to ride the ancient whale who had accompanied the girls ancient ancestor.
Very good movie! The book is even better!
