In the movie does Hemi have a crush on Pai? I think there's proof in the movie when he wanted Pai to watch his school. "As long as you're quiet, I wouldn't mind" He said.

sharei agree. that could be a wrench in the whole romance. but i do think the foreshadowing was there. the scene where she fights him and wins was a friendship blossoming into awe, intrigue and respect. plus, she will be chief...she can date who she wants :)

Actually if you've seen "Once Were Warriors", the marriage between the two main characters (Beth and Jake)in that film, is a good example of the conflicting relationship between the high and low and im sure it would be similar story for Pai and Hemi if they were to fall in love with each other.
