Was Papa Doc really going to fight Rabbit in the parking lot?

I'm talking about the scene where Cheddar Bob shoots himself to help their group win the brawl. Papa Doc hands his crony his gun and keeps acting like he was going to fight Rabbit. Was he going to or was he just trying to act hard?

Who knows, it never ended up happening, im sure he would've fought him though, I don't think he would've pussied out infront of his crew like that

Dear Warden, You were right. Salvation lies within.

You make a point. I was curious about Wink, too. In the scene afterwards, where Wink and Future argue, Wink seems like he wanted to swing on Future. Yet, later in the film he needs six other people to help him get revenge on B-Rabbit.

reply

I think it was more Rabbit had it coming as he'd pissed off that whole gang, Rabbit broke Winks nose and then left, Wink wanted to put a beatdown on him so he called the boys and they all kicked the *beep* outta him

True. Was still a pussy move. I would've shot those aswipes lol. Also, do you think Wink had those connections? And p.S. Rabbit only fought the Free World constantly because Papa Doc/Clarence was such an egotistical smartass with his wanna-be-Pac attitude.

reply

Yeah true getting a gang to help you beat down one guy is pretty pussy. Which connections? the ones to the music industry he always bragged about? or connections with Papa Doc. I think he was probably a small timer in the music industry, he probably knew a couple important people but wasnt the big shot he made it seem. Why else would he be hanging around nobodies like papa doc and free world and *beep* People who actually have legit connections wouldn't be hanging out in a dump like the shelter looking for talent.
And yeah I agree about why Rabbit fought the Free World

I meant the connections to Big O and Roy Daroucher. Plus Wink's claim that he promoted the Free World at the hip-hop shop.

reply

Oh no idea dude haven't seen the movie in a while so I have a hard time remembering that part

reply

Oh okay. Yeah, everytime I watch the film I find it amazing that the Free World were perfectly willing to brawl during the group fight in the scene mentioned in the title, yet all six have to jump Jimmy. That's strange.

Do you think Wink was really going to swing on Future in the car?

I meant the connections to Big O and Roy Daroucher. Plus Wink's claim that he promoted the Free World at the hip-hop shop.

Wink is shown to have some pull locally, so the Big O story isn't hard to believe. It's really left ambiguous. Since he was working for the Free World, it's likely he was being honest about how he was promoting them. It would be easy for them to tell if he was BSing.
