Just watched for first time. Why was the VHS tape angry?

I don't get how an inantimate object can feelings to begin with, but okay let's say this IS possible. So why was the vhs tape angry? (again, assuming that it can even have feeings at all)

inantimate objects do not have emotions, last time I checked.

My question is: why did the video tape hate the young people so much? What did they do to make the tape hate them?

Tapes are pretty angry, as they rightly should be. They were the superior film depot and were usurped by DVDs and now streaming. You'd be hella angry and spooking young people too if they made you obsolete

Probably the physical abuse they take. Especially if a Rental. All that rewinding.
