Eddie Murphy's boxing?

They cast Eddie Murphy as a champion fighter. Hard to believe.

well in the tv series, the character was a tennis player, can't imagine that would translate to the big screen as exciting.

If one does not think tennis can be exciting, then that person has clearly not watched the Japanese cartoon series, "Prince of Tennis".

just as convincing as Sly Stallone's boxing 'style' imho.

Both Eddie and Stallone actually know how to Box. On the DVD there is commentary on this; Eddie learned how to basketball when he was young and didn't need a trainer, just a choreagrapher.

And why not? Basketball players can be small (ironically though, they scrapped the idea of a basketball-playing Murphy), tennis players big. Besides, he wasn't in the heavy weight catagory or something.

It's a movie, they cast Eddie Murphy because he's funny.
