This song is "Minha Galera" by Manu Chao from his album "Clandestino".
And the song is about marijuana. Not at all fitting. I thought it might be about an awkward girl who is loved inspite. It's a song in Portuguese and I was wrong about the content which is why the song is not appropriate in this movie; even if it is a fun song.
