I don't really care if Xander is the main character if they make a third one, I would just like to hear them say his death was faked so the bad guys wouldn't think to go after him for information. Killing him off was such a stupid idea... I would have prefered them saying something like "He's retired" or something like that, because the way he was killed was just ridiculas and doesn't fit the character at all.

i thought it was a good sequal but not the same without Vin. actually, they had written the original script with Vin as the main character and Ice Cube was gonna be his partner, but then they chucked the idea at the last minute and rewrote the whole thing
