During Xander's first test, he stops a hold up in a diner. A diner seems to be a strange place for a hold up. Jules (played by Samuel Jackson) from Pulp Fiction was present during a hold up too. Was this a nod to Pulp Fiction?

Nope, doesn't even look the same. The one in Pulp Fiction was much bigger than the xXx one.

I doubt this had anything to do with Pulp Fiction, even as a homage... this scene is quite a core one to the story and as such was probably written before they knew what actors were involved (ie. Jackson)
