I didn't get this scene (SPOILERS)

The scene in the underground lab when the scientists get gassed.

So the scientists know they are all going to DIE, and they rush for the door, which is a very thick armored vault door, and start SHOOTING at the door, which of course does nothing.

Why didn't they shoot at the guys holding the remote controls for the missile? As far as I can tell, the glass in the air-tight glass rooms didn't look bulletproof ... Just aim the weapons there, duh ...

It's spelled Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced 'Throat-Warbler Mangrove'

The glass probably was bulletproof.... but still, bulletproof glass isn't nearly as strong as a armored vault door.

Does history record any case in which the majority was right?
