why does agent shavers tell vins charecter to back up but yet he stands right next the explosion and detonates it if it is as powerful as he makes out then why doesnt it blow shavers up

Maybe because he had his back to it while Diesel was facing it. Splinters in your eyes would suck.

Does history record any case in which the majority was right?

The comedian that played Agent Shavers committed suicide not long ago.
