Vin Diesel; Bad actor?
Does anyone else think he did a very poor job of acting in the movie? I have never seen him in any other movies so I do not know what to think about him.

ofcourse he's a bad actor, he's an action movie star. almost all action movie stars are bad actors. Arnold, Sylvester, and The Rock are all terrible actors. These guys are here to play badasses and blow s*** up, not to be actors.
shareI agree with cparham7. Bad actor or not, he's good at being a tough guy and that's all that matters. The movie kicks ass. Personally, I'm tired of this good actor/bad actor nonsense anyway. Movies which strictly require good actors to be in them are boring!! Think about it.
shareI don't know if he qualifies as an action star but Dicaprio in Gangs of New York and The Departed(2 of the most violent movies ever)is an awesome actor. And Johnny D in Once upon a time in Mexico and the Pirates trilogy(all action films)is an excellent actor but again I don't know if he counts. Actually I think they are both just stars who were in action films and not action stars, still I just wanted to see what everyone thought of them.
And also I think Diesel and The Rock are both pretty good actors.
He was a bit better in Pitch Black -- you might like that one.
shareI just saw the movie last week, and I have not seen other movies with him.... but I thought he was extremely unconvincing.....Badass actor or not - you still have to believe the character.....I didn't in this movie.

shareAnyone who can play a talking tree who only says "I Am Groot" in a number of different ways and make him into the most popular character in an odd ball space opera definitely has some solid acting chops.
Diesel will probably never win an Oscar but when he fits a role he can make it work and keep the ball rolling till the credits start. Even though he's made a name for himself as an action star he gained recognition in the industry for his short film Multi-Facial where he displayed a lot of acting range, enough to convince both Steven Spielberg and Brad Bird to cast him in Saving Private Ryan and The Iron Giant.
Honestly he really is not that good of an actor,hes fine in the movies he does
