Who does he think he is James Bond!?
Just about every good idea in all the James Bond movies packed into this rubbish, included a flag parachute. But I'm sorry nobody does it better than JB.

shareActually, as I read somewhere, that was mostly what they were going for, coming across as a sort of anti-James Bond.
From what I remember, anyway, that was the point of the joke in the beginning with the agent using some fancy gizmo's, evading the bad guys, and then donning the classic tuxedo....only to find himself completely out of place by stepping into a Rammstein concert. A subtle 'wink wink' moment to the audience, or at least that's how I took it. If I find the article or whatever it was, I'll try to post a link or something.
james bond is an waste of space hes so old and over done!
shareDon't get me wrong, I love the James Bond novels, but as a character he's not particularly interesting, it's the situations he finds himself in that are interesting. Even Ian Fleming said that Bond is rather a dull man as he doesn't read or listen to music. He doesn't seem to have any pastimes to speak of, besides women, boozing, gambling and the occasional game of golf. At least Xander Cage enjoys himself by participating in a wide variety of sports. Oh, and Bond smokes, plus he drinks too damn much in the books to truly be effective, in my opinion. Cage, on the other hand, apparently doesn't drink booze, or at least not excessively. Given the choice, I'd rather be xXx than OO7 anyday. I recall one review branding xXx as "James Bond for slackers". An unfair evaluation, of both the fans and the man himself.
shareBond is very cultured and knowledgable in the movies. Lots of the movies have setups near the start where he is discussing the "case" with M and Q and he drops lots of extensive random knowledge about butterfly collecting or the gold market or cars.
shareThat was definitely the point of the scene at the start. The guy failed because he was so overdressed and conspicuous in that concert environment.
James Bond mostly fights villains who hang out in suits in casinos, but here its Xander that blends in better.
I have been a huge Bond fan since I first saw them 30 years ago when I was a little kid. I didn't like xXx when I first saw it but after a couple of viewings it grew on me and now I rank it as one of my favoutite 'kick-back with a beer and popcorn' movies.
Thanks to this movie I discovered the German rock band Rammstein and it also prompted me to visit Prague this summer which was a fantastic experience.
xXx will and could never replace the Bond franchise but it is very enjoyable although a lot depends on if you like Vin Diesel. xXx2 stank badly so if there is a third movie I hope Diesel returns.
Extreme sports version of James Bond.
I prefer Austin Powers to James Bond. They are all fun to watch but.. Both are equally ridiculous but only one seems to realise it, and the other takes itself more seriously.

One thing that irritates me about imdb boards it's the "looks like" topics. Never even close.
