Alistair Pratt's victim, Karen, played by Astrid Skuyat

Insane Alistair Pratt lures a pretty young blonde woman, Karen, who works at a downtown theater in the ticket-sales booth, to a creepy, empty, large warehouse with promises of modeling or acting? Now wasn't that just plain incredulous?
The actress, "Astrid Skuyat", evidently played just that one cameo scene and was never seen in any other movie or television production afterwards. Maybe the evil computer in FearDotCom got her. That's strange. Why would a young lady embark upon acting and then quit or stop after just this one cameo role? Maybe she was just trying out acting or took up this cameo on a lark but afterwards decided acting wasn't for her. Who knows? A lot of women who are into stage drama acting or other drama arts do a bit part here and there but never really enter the movie or television acting world. It's as if they got picked up for a cameo and that's it. Yet if you've been researching imdb for years like I have, this is a common occurence. Some movie will hire a young lady for a particular, usually very short part, speaking, non-speaking, and/or screaming, whatever, and that's the last seen of her in acting. One horror movie director hired a young lady from a local college to play a monster's nude victim. So that's evidence these one-time actresses do occur. I'm guessing Astrid was a college student at the time, earning some extra cash and also trying out a bit part in a horror movie that got a national theatrical release. After graduation she went on to her planned career.

ASTRID SKUYAT sounds like a combination of a German-Spanish-Eastern European name. Yet she speaks one line in the movie and clearly it's fluent English with no accent. We'll never know what really happened to Astrid Skuyat since 2002.

UPDATE: I visited F.Y.E.s and purchased a used copy of FEARDOTCOM. In the inside cover is a photo of Astrid Skuyat's hapless victim character, stripped nude and strapped to a Dr. Frankenstein lab-like experimentation torture table with the sinister Dr. Alastair hovering next to her contemplating his next heinous acts with her. Astrid may have gone on to her post-college life and profession but now she'll be memorialized in her nude victim role forever.
