3.0??? wtf...

3.0?? This is outrageous..How can you put this movie on the same level with the crapy horror home movies made with a few bucks..this is unacceptable..Beside the script which was kind of surreal, the directing, the image, the tension, even the acting was very good in my point of view...

Yeah I dont get the really low rating either. It was a pretty entertaining movie.

I thought it was interesting too why there is so much hate for this film, when it's clearly a pretty good movie. I read a lot of the User Reviews and I think the post by AF McNeil pretty much hits the nail on the head. This is really a cerebral horror film and the "3.0 people" are mostly the "bash-'em in the head one more time" types. Too bad they're missing a lot.

My conjecture is that a lot of the hate was due to its plot similarities with Ringu (aka Ring), and the problem there is not just that Feardotcom was similar, but that there was a HUGE backlash in the late 1990s/early 2000s against horror remakes, especially of American remakes of Japanese and other recent Asian horror films. As time goes on and people forget about or are unaware of that socio-historical context, the consensus opinion of this film will probably creep a bit higher.

It's on TV. I've seen a few minutes. THIS is not 3.2 material.

This movie sucked. It was so bad it ruined The Ring and Ringu for me. Kind of like the way a couple of decades of crappy Citizen Kane references affected my enjoyment of that film when I finally saw it.

I can not believe there are so many people defending this movie on these boards.

It's utterly horrendous.

The story, acting, dialogue, all of it; pure crap. It's only entertaining because of how bad it is, and it's not that entertaining even with that as a plus! I have my signature as a line from the movie because me and my friends laugh at how crappy it is.

And it's not a 3.0 now, it's a 3.2?!?! Ridiculous.

One positive this flick had was it's plot. It seems like all horror movies today involve teens/college kids accidentally finding themselves killed off one by one by a monster or slasher. This movie was different because it didn't mainly feature young people running around screaming from some monster.

I liked this movie because there really is a certain amount of psychic/pranic energy that can be transfers by Instant Messages on the internet. It also reminds me of the X-File where the boyfriend and girlfriend upload their essense onto the web so that they can be together forever.
Face it, in residual hauntings, a violent death imprints the last actions of the individual usually experiencing an unexpected/victimized violent death, also out of whatever the universe's design for your life maybe...
Everyone in this movie dies of their own personal fears. So did Jeannie, as she was a hemophiliac, she was afraid of accidentally being cut. The doctor tortures the victims with knives and medical devices. The subscribers are even registered on the fear site in scapels.
The white ball, the little girl in the white dress, are all symbols of a time of innocense before Jeannie Richards was victimized.
