Pros and cons with this movie
Okay, so I finally saw this movie. Thank God I did it online so I wouldn't have made the mistake of buying it!
While this movie allured to me I still wasn't sure of watching it because of the bad rating, negative comment and the fact that the people involved were all ones I'd never heard of. But let's break down this movie.
Pros:
1. Creepy atmosphere.
2. When the screen blacked out and scary images popped up every time someone entered the site. That was slightly disturbing.
3. Stephen Dorff is decent.
4. The plot is a mix of unique and something that's been done before, but it was still interesting.
5. Actually a little eerie. The man lighting a cigarette in the car, then suddenly the car starts to burn up is my favorite scene in the entire movie.
6. The cinematography is dang good.
7. (Both pro and con) The unintentional comedy. The ball just showing up anywhere was just ridiculous and was even stupider when realizing it doesn't contribute shít to the story. And the characters are just so fúcking stupid. "Hey, you seem like a perfect lead for my movie." It's a fúcking stranger just suddenly photographing you with a camera! ARE YOU FÚCKING NAIVE?! And Terry saying to Mike "Promise me you'll NEVER enter that site" after a tragic accident has happened after someone did. One minute later. "If she simply says I never should enter it, I HAVE to, so damn curious!" Come on, Mike, are you STUPID??? The villain is really laughably unconvincing and cheesy too. "You are going to kill me, aren't you?" "Of COURSE I'm going to kill you!" So dumb it's funny. And the woman at the site sounds like someone running a porn site; "Do you like to watch?" For fúck's sake man.
Cons:
1. The (yep) villain. It's probably the lamest villain I've seen in a movie... EVER! Not to mention the actor that plays him is really lousy.
2. What the hell does the girl even have to do with the movie?!
3. Natascha McElhone is not an impressive actor.
4. Why does the poster show something that's not even in the movie? Sooooo dissapointed!
5. Stereotypical music. (Yes, I know it's very hard to avoid from movies nowadays, but since this not a great movie by any mean I might as well pick on that too)
6. The videotapings are more awkward than they are creepy. At first I even thought it was just a normal guy who got angry by somebody filming him. In fact, I didn't even had any idea WHY they filmed him. The movie needed to be clearer on that.
7. There are lots of parts where it felt like nothing even remotely interesting happened at all.
8. THE ENDING IS AN INSULT TO EVERY HORROR MOVIE EVER FÚCKING MADE!!!
Final score: 4 out of 10. This is on the same stupid level as The Grudge (2004).
