What's a "mofo" anyway?

Shouldn't it be spelled 'mofu', and the 'mo' pronounced like 'ma' anyway? So, phonetically, it should sound more like 'mafa' and look like 'mofu', shouldn't it?

Why did someone make it 'mofo'? Why do people do this, can't they spell, speak or think at all?

Who decided it's 'mofo' anyway, where does that come from? Whoever decided it's 'mofo' was clearly an illiterate moron.
