Actually, this movie is not about "how the military is really like". This movie does show a Military Academy, not the real military. It's a whole bunch of JROTC cadets. Did you know that "Rahway High School" is a real school. And their drill team is one of the most competitive in the nation when it comes to exhibition drill. It really sucked that they weren't allowed to use real rifles. Those white rifles weigh like, 4 lbs. Rahway uses almost 10lbs. M-14 rifles in REAL competitions. This movie, like many, many other movies, does make many mistakes concerning military norms and what not. Some commands were wrong and if you notice in the Rahway scene there are some continuity problems (the cadets were at port and then suddenly at right-shoulder). That african american guy with the rifle from Rahway was Blake Jackson. He is an awesome driller and is commemorated at one of my favorite sites, The Drill Jungle. If any of you are interested in what you see in this movie (drill) you should check out this site, it is AWESOME : www.thedrilljungle.com
Hasta luego!
