JROTC cadets anyone?
Right here. JROTC Cadet. Couldn't quite relate to Kelly's situation, but any JROTC cadets or former ones that can or did?

whats JROTC?
Im an Australian Air Force Cadet and we do drills
we have a drill comp. coming up soon
Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp. They train high school students for special military forces such as US army and US air force. It is similar to Australian Air Force. The Army ones include a ton of physical training.

PS-To puppy_hpandtslfan_08 I totally agree. If she did that crap with my captain, she'd be dead. If the SAI instructor saw that, she'd be dead. and the SAI is nice.

yeah. i am one of the good cadets, yet the JROTC class always has that rotten apple. When one gets in trouble, we all pay. So I get in trouble for something I didn't do. Do your JROTC classes do the same thing.

I'm a MC JROTC cadet baby!! 2 years in a row. I'm currently a Cadet Corporal....will be a cadet sergeant soon. i love doing jrotc...hard work but it's worth it and I'm on the drill team:)
shareI love Cadet Kelly, even though it makes me queasy when I watch certain scenes. There are a lot of f*ed up moments....(Their crappy present arms and Jennifer's backwards BDU cap while in her class B). I also didn't like how they made it seem as though people in military school had no lives. I go to military school and I have a life. It's an Army one too, so I can relate to what they abide by and what not. Still, though there's a lot of crap that made me sick to my stomach to watch (like how I've seen pleebs salute better then their comedant).
shareSame here. The Army has a major impact on my life. Well, it's because my dad was in the army. HOOAH

I’m an Air Force JROTC cadet and I love it, Air Force has impacted my life as well, and I intend to join once I graduate. I can't wait until this Saturday for our Military Ball, I'm so afraid I'll mess up once I get in front of everyone w/ the rest of Saber team.

First year of JROTC and I love it! I like the movie but I haven't seen since way before I joined so I'll have to watch it again and I'll probably notice the mistakes. I'm platoon sergeant and just got promoted to corporal, yay!
shareCongrats. I am a sergeant and was a squad leader. our 1sg couldn't get his s*** together saying i was too bossy with my squad. It wasn't my fault he put a bunch of preppy jock wannabe dumbasses in my squad (i had to crack down hard on those guys)
David Archuleta's #1 Fan!
I wasn in JROTC for 4 years and I couldn't relate to her at all. Everything she did just annoyed me. I mean a lot of her problem was not having common sense and just not trying.
No way someone could have gotten away with the stuff she did, just to go to the bathroom during class you had to do 15 push ups.
Navy JROTC here only got to do it for half a year before we moved and my new school(s) didn't have the program.
shareCadet Technical Sergeant here, Air Force equivalent of JROTC where I'm from. I could sort of relate, since I was a relatively new addition to the honor guard (drill team). I struggled to work my way to the point that our captain was incapable of telling who the new guy was without asking.
I had to deal with a lot of--well, not quite ire, but the wing commander was certainly a lot harder on me than everyone else. Imagine 50 pushups just because my hair was still long enough to move in the wind. The guy to my right hadn't had a haircut in weeks, but he still escaped punishment.
So yeah, I could relate to her having to deal with (whatever Christy Romano's character's name was). I apparently did fine, since I was promoted to sergeant with the rest of the HGs.
If she had my commander, no doubt she would've had to drop out of the school. Actually, I can't begin to name all the things in the movie that would've earned infinite pushups. Yeah.
On a side note, does anyone in JROTC and ROTC drill with gloves on? I've never seen an ROTC rifle drill with gloves. And not leather; we do our drills with cloth gloves that make rifle handling extremely difficult.
