I was 8 when this movie came out! Man oh man

I don't know if this is a general rule of thumb, but I find movies you watch as a kid you will always keep near and dear to your heart. That's how I feel about cadet Kelly, I love it. It seems a lot of people dislike this movie because they roll their eyes at disney, and now I tend to roll my eyes at the current disney shows and movies, but think about the kids watching it, when they get older they will only have fond memories of the shows they're watching now. It's a funny cycle we live in.

I try and think Bout shows from back in the day and wonder if adults used to think they were so horrible and lame at the time but are kindof "classics" now. Anyone have any thoughts to add?

I just want to add that you are right on. It's the medicine of nostalgia at work, but it's quite a bitter pill to take at times, because for me, I am finally appreciating some of the stuff I NEVER cared about when they first came out but now that the nostalgia bug has bitten, I suddenly realize it's pretty good and that I should have appreciated it all along. So, that part is really sad for me---the days of lost joy that never was...

But, yes---I concur completely---the movies, TV, and music we enjoy as children and youths tend to stay with us always, rather than fade from memory like most stuff seen or heart later in life does. That's been my experience, anyway.

Thanks for your eloquent post, it really expresses a feeling I think all us nostalgic folks can relate to. :-)

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!
