And he has not been tested under controlled laboratory conditions, and if he had, he definitely wouldn't have passed with flying colors. No frauds ever allow themselves to take part in a properly controlled experiments, because they know they'll fail.
random_ax, if he has been tested as you say, tell us about it. Where did it happen? When? Who tested him? In what peer-reviewed scientific journals were the results published? Give us something.
It was in an article I read about him. It's also documented in his book but I wouldn't expect you to believe him as a source. I'll research and find the answer for you

shareactually he did pass a scientifically controlled test administered by third party researchers and was reported in some other book I don't remember the name of it. I still have trouble believing this though. Maybe he does hear voices but that doesn't mean they're coming from the dead.

shareAs done by Stan Marsh from "South Park", I also wanted to give Cold Reading a shot to see if its just a con, and after watching a few episodes of "Crossing Over" to understand what questions to ask and how to go about it I went to a mall out of town and gave it a shot. And just like John Edward people just couldn't help but fall into my trap, yes I got some wrong answers, who wouldn't? But the fact is if an Average Joe can do this and be mostly "accurite", then I'm pretty sure a Douche like John Edward can do it no problem too. It's a nice trick to do with your kids, teach them the art of cold reading and watch the idiots flock to them like moths to the flame. As to the closure aspect, false sences of security is just as bad as not having any closer at all, maybe even worse. These people have lost loved ones and he (and I for a couple of hours, but only as an experiment) have exploited them and toyed with their emotions. Priceguy, I hope this is enough proof that he isnt "gifted" in that sence, go watch a few episodes then go to a large gathering and give it a whirl, and watch as you become gifted with his "abilities." Now Just like other people I'm going to say this one more time, John Edward is a Douche, he is a con man, and if i wanted money so badly I can emulate his con also. This show is just as I said, A CON, the closure he provides is false and only hurts in the long run. Just imagine how all of these people feel when they found out he was a fraud and a Douche? They are probably devistated and hurt and raged at the fact that he messed with them like that.
P.S.: For those who are wondering how i was able to watch episodes after it was canceled, there is a woman at my apartment complex that recorded it everyday during it's run. Also don't flame me for my spelling, I know I mispelled a few words but you try typing something like this before work. Now, let the flaming begin.
