Sean dies at the end

I just wanted to say that I did a post on here years ago explaining that sean dies at the end but there was a troll who couldn't take it and kept crying that he didn't because he read the book. He dies because he is driving fast on a motorbike in the snow and there is a crossing and he is in an accident. There I said it.

reply

He doesn't die. Driving fast on a motorbike in the snow and there being a crossing doesn't mean anything, especially when there are no other vehicles on the road.

The film starts and ends in mid-sentence.

Stop being a dumb simpleton.

reply

why do you have to insult people. it was you i were actually talking about. I'll act like you. Do you remember me bitch?

reply

LOL You called someone a troll, don't get all defensive. And insult people all you want. No one cares, dope.

reply

No one cares? Obviously you do, everytime some one talks about your precious Sean no less. Maybe you like to masturbate thinking you were the gay guy in the movie pretending you are performing sodomy on Sean like the gay guy imagines. Thats why you can stop talking about him. He dies at the end, there is more evidence he does than he doesn't.

reply

It's weird that you fantasize about men having sex. If that's what turns you on, then more power to you.

But there is absolutely no evidence that he dies.

reply

I said maybe you fantasize, Where did it say I did? And if I did why is it weird? Are you a homophobe as well as a infidel? Show me the evidence he doesn't die.

reply

You're thinking about me masturbating, but like I said, if thats what turns you on, then more power to you.

Why should I show you evidence when there is absolutely no evidence that he died?

reply

So now you claim to be psychic by claiming I were thinking about you masturbating. I started this board by very briefly giving the reasons. I didn't just say Sean dies at the end and not put anything underneath. What makes you so special to refuse to give a reason or evidence just by counter-arguing that "He didn't die"

reply

ishyman, can't you see cheeso is coming on to you? This is what he does to get the sexual attention he desires. He/she/it is a sad specimen longing for human contact but because he doesn't get any in that cold, dark attic in his Grandmother's house he decides to come here and find people like you to address them. He feels a sense of human contact through IMDB conversations. I don't know whether he masturbates to it or not and frankly I don't want to know. But it wouldn't surprise me either way.

Beware of cheeso. He is not all that he appears. Underneath the ugly, sad, lonely and pathetic exterior there is a embarrassingly disgraceful, worthless interior.

reply

My grandmother doesn't have an attic.

reply

She did when I was there.

"Having sex with a pregnant woman is like putting gas in a car you just wrecked." - Jefferson

reply

Cool story, bro.

reply

Thanks for the advice.....I'd better not mention Tony Soprano dies at the end or he'll start crying at that too since he literally needs to be spoonfed information for it to register. Like he has to be told a red axe is red so he knows it is red. hahahahahahahah

reply

Only morons think Sean dies at the end. But at least you've found your intellectual match in little Jeffy. Congrats!

reply

As in we are of sound mind and smart and actually have a life? Thanks

reply

No, as in "You're a total moron."

reply

cheeso, when everyone thinks you're a moron then it's time to stop calling people morons and embrace your own stupidity. Stop the self-hatred!

"Having sex with a pregnant woman is like putting gas in a car you just wrecked." - Jefferson

reply

Provide evidence that we are total morons. You did that in quotations like you were quoting somebody. Can't you not even use your own insults? Like I said before what makes you so special that whatever you say goes and everyone esle doesn't have a valid point?

reply

Read Jefferson's and your own posts, you are obviously very stupid. The proof is self-evident. Asking for proof is even more hilarious.

reply

Ok provide proof that you are not a troll and that 80% of all of your comments of here are not argumentative. Provide proof Tony Soprano didn't die. Provide prove Sean didn't die in the movie. Provide proof that you are always right 100% of the time.

reply

You can't prove a negative. If you weren't a stupid moron, you would know this.

reply

Again, when will you realize that someone who everyone thinks is a huge moron cannot go around calling other people moron's and expect to be taken seriously?

"Having sex with a pregnant woman is like putting gas in a car you just wrecked." - Jefferson

reply

calling other people moron's...

You don't know the difference between plural and possessive, you illiterate monkey.

reply

If he is illterate and a monkey - How can he post on the internet since the most a monkey can do is sign language.

reply

Lol at the stupid questions you "moron's" ask.

reply

It is a legitimate question, you are a "moron" if you are unable to answer it.

reply

You're still missing the point, I see. I'm not surprised.

reply

You claimed that we are illiterate monkeys, again I will ask since you are evading my question If he is illterate and a monkey - How can he post on the internet since the most a monkey can do is sign language.

reply

Eh, it's a typo. Those things are excused and forgiven.

Unfortunately there is no excuse for the life you live.

I wonder how many hours you spend on here everyday having these silly arguments. Over/under 75 hours per week?

"Having sex with a pregnant woman is like putting gas in a car you just wrecked." - Jefferson

reply

Eh, it's a typo.

No, it wasn't a typo, you actually are that stupid. As proven by the whole concept of that retarded thread. You are ignorant and you were talking out of your ass, like always.

reply

Nope. It was a typo. A mistake. You know, just like your whole existence. Your mother should have swallowed.

Again you're using 'ignorance' completely out of context and then calling people morons. Not to mention the fact that, again, everyone thinks you're a moron. You still haven't acknowledged that. Everyone thinks you're a moron on here, and I assume in reality (whatever that is for you), so you should embrace your own stupidity and stop taking out your frustrations on others.

"Having sex with a pregnant woman is like putting gas in a car you just wrecked." - Jefferson

reply

LOL it was not a typo. And why do you only address the "typo" and not the fact that you were totally wrong about that whole concept, you stupid moron?

reply

"You are ignorant and you were talking out of your ass, like always." Shouldn't it be "You are ignorant and you ARE talking out of your ass, like always." Hth

reply

No, he is ignorant, right now, in the present tense. He was talking out of his ass in that thread that was referenced, a thread he posted, in the past.

I know you want to be his knight in shining armor, and it's cute, but don't make an ass of yourself in the process, ok?

reply

There you go again with the psychic stuff. I started the thread I don't need to rescue anybody. He don't need rescuing either he runs rings round you. This is interesting conversing with moron like you. Maybe you are jealous because no else has a mutual understanding with you like we have.

reply

He don't need rescuing...

I really have to ask, is English your second language?

Maybe you are jealous because no else has a mutual understanding with you like we have.

Aw...that's sweet.

True, you did start this thread, but you never offered any proof that Sean died. You said, "...he is driving fast on a motorbike in the snow and there is a crossing..." All that proves is that he was driving fast on a motorbike and there was a crossing, it doesn't prove anything else.

reply

I can use don't instead of doesn't instead of does not. It does not suggest broken English and if it did where is it relevant? You are a sad sad person with nothing better to do than troll on the internet all day. A very lonely life indeed. The Erasure song at the end adds further points to the theory.

reply

No, using "don't" is not proper, at all. And it does suggest broken English. "Don't" is a contraction of "do not." And you can't say "He do not need rescuing." Having to teach you English is really saying a lot.

The Erasure song does nothing to add to your theory. For one thing, the dialogue is not intended to lead to the lyrics of the song. The dialogue is exactly as in the book, it ends in mid-sentence and doesn't lead to anything.

But, let's assume Sean is saying, "All I could think was, we'll be together again." How does that prove he died?

reply

It's not broken English, it's slang and you failed to indicate where it mattered - In fact you are digging a hole for yourself in doing so by suggesting English is my 2nd language - You are being made a fool of by somebody who doesn't even use English as their mother tongue. English is my mother tongue and i'm still making a fool out of you. "All I could think was" He dies "We'll be together again" (In heaven).

reply

"We'll be together again" (In heaven)

They can be together again in life. It's much easier and faster, since Lauren is alive, and Sean is, too. They don't have to be in heaven, and it does nothing to prove your point.

You are being made a fool of by somebody who doesn't even use English as their mother tongue. English is my mother tongue...

The only fool is you. It's not slang, and you barely make any sense, let alone valid points about the movie.

reply

Again you are digging a bigger hole for yourself. I use the word don't instead of does not and it barely makes sense to you. Like I said to you before, you need to be spoonfed information and by making these claims it makes it easier for you to say oh I don't understand what he's saying so i'll just disregard anything he says. Alcoholics do something similar by saying they don't have a problem at the same time as downing a couple of shots. This is an internet page not an english essay, when you are looking for typos and such, it's really pathetic as it shows you are looking for minor flaws when you can't find anything major. I can understand you very well and your no Shakespeare yourself.

reply

I never said it didn't make sense, retard, I said it was not proper English, something you obviously don't understand.

And your theory makes no sense. The song, the road, the motorcycle, none of it proves Sean died.

reply

Heres what you said
"The only fool is you. It's not slang, and you barely make any sense, let alone valid points about the movie."

Here's what I said

"Again you are digging a bigger hole for yourself. I use the word don't instead of does not and it barely makes sense to you."

Now show me where I said that you said "it didn't make sense"

My theory has also been covered here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0292644/board/thread/139851676?d=161688800&p=2#161688800 Where a few comments later you got excited about the same thing.

It is easy for you to brand someone a retard especially someone delusional like you. I think it's funny how to you just tried lie your way through this to try and win an argument. If you notice my responses are considerably more sophisticated than yours without having to demean myself by spurting petty insults. You show a considerable amount of antipathy toward anyone who disagrees with you; the evidence in in your message history. I conclude that if we are all retarded and of less intelligence for you to "barely make any sense" (Ironically should be the other way round) Do not continue in the conversation as this is obviously beneath you and not mentally stimulating enough for you to hold enough interest. I will not reply to you anymore as I do not find conversing with you mentally stimulating enough for me to hold enough interest. You can believe what you want to believe about the movie as will I.

Good luck Jefferson with this guy!

reply

It's not broken English, it's slang and you failed to indicate where it mattered - In fact you are digging a hole for yourself in doing so by suggesting English is my 2nd language - You are being made a fool of by somebody who doesn't even use English as their mother tongue. reply

cheeso, you never answered my question.

Over/under on you being here 75 hours a week? I'll take the over.

"Having sex with a pregnant woman is like putting gas in a car you just wrecked." - Jefferson

reply

Pages and pages of stupid postings about whether or not he dies at the end and petty insults......God forbid you do a little research, otherwise you would've found out pretty easily that Sean Bateman appears in other Ellis novels that take place after the events in Rules of Attraction....

Another person in this thread actually already commented on this, but not in reply to you.

reply

He doesn't die at the end. Show us evidence that he DOES.
I'll be waiting...

reply

It's been years since I last read the book, but "Rules of Attraction" pre-dates "American Psycho" by at least a few years in terms of their first respective publishings, and Sean Bateman appears in "American Psycho" as well. If Psycho indeed takes place after Rules then Sean Bateman couldn't logically have died at the end of Rules. Like I said though, it's been a while since I read either, so I could be wrong. I may have to ask Roger what his take is on the whole thing.

reply

How do you know he didn't survive the accident? If there was an accident. Being in an accident doesn't mean he had to die.

I was drinking before you got out of your father's cock. Don't tell me what I do.

reply

There was no accident.

reply

Yeah I get that. The OP doesn't and believes there was an accident. I am simply pointing out that accident does not equal death. And I wasn't talking to you so back off.

I was drinking before you got out of your father's cock. Don't tell me what I do.

reply

Sean Bateman's character appears in several of Bret Easton Ellis' subsequent novels, all of which have plots that take place several years in the future. In other words, he does not die at the end of this movie.

Having just read the entire thread, I have no doubt that the OP and his friend Al Bundy are complete idiots. As stated earlier, the movie begins in mid-sentence and ends the same way. This is not to show that the character dies, simply that he has not completed any character arc i.e. being a sociopath, he is left unchanged by his experiences...there is no catharsis.

I'm sure that cheese understands this, but such a concept is obviously over the heads of the OP and Al Bundy.

reply

They're trolls, don't feed them. Trolls don't read, trolls aren't intelligent, and trolls can only take things at face value.

"Well...I've seen enough. Come on Charlie, we're going home."

reply

In the film, there is no accident.

reply

In the film, there is no accident.

Correct

reply

Yes. Sean dies.

The book STOPS in mid sentence.
indicating, that he does die..and can't continue talking.

So, does the movie.

AND in Glamorama (the book) - They mention SEAN BATEMAN, a bunch of times, and they say they hurd a rumor he DIED.

(but nobody in glamorama likes him)

reply

The book BEGINS mid sentence too. By your logic that must mean Lauren's coming back from the dead.

Effing idiot...

Oh and btw, YAY YOU READ GLAMORAMA, PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK. The whole book is full of 'rumors' about dead people, ones that Ellis has since used in later books. Nice readin' Tex.

"Well...I've seen enough. Come on Charlie, we're going home."

reply

Are you talking TO ME!!!!

Glamorama, is *beep* GENIUS (the first half)

If you don't understand it, it's cool...I have I.T nerds colleagues, which I wouldn't expec tthat much.

And Half sentence..in the end..it's sort of, WHy..am I talking to you, when

reply

No man, the book starts and ends in mid-sentence, so that says nothing about people dying. Sean did not die.

And the first part of Glamorama is horrible. It's the second half that is genius.

reply

Jedcohelo,

Did you read American Psycho? It takes place after Rules and Sean Bateman is in that one. Not just mentioned, but actually in the book.

reply

Well, in rules he calls Patrick Bateman. and they have dinner with him...

So, I'm thinking, it's a parallel world. That American psycho happens while Rules of Attraction happens

reply

I am pretty certain that Sean is done with Camden in AP, I believe it is mentioned when he and Patrick have dinner at Dorsia. I am pretty sure AP takes place after Rules.

I should add that the dinner in AP is not the same dinner as in Rules, they are two separate occurrences.

reply

You're probably right. AP I read it billions of years ago..

But less than zero, ROA, glamorama: re-read them all last summer.

reply

I need to reread AP too. I have reread all of the others more recently.

Have you read Imperial Bedrooms? It is basically an update on the characters from Less Than Zero.

reply

Sean doesn't die since he appears in the book American Psycho which takes place after Rules.

reply

Actually I had a post from like 2007 that was called "Sean dies at the end" that said exactly what you are saying now.

I just love film.

reply

It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

reply
