Why is the doctor so unhelpful?

Why is it that when Harry "ODs" that the doctor is so unhelpful? Is it because he can see he is okay;is sick of college kids coming in over reacting or is it to stall Paul from meeting Sean because he will probably make a fool of himself? Is he joking about when he tells then he is dead? I know it's the same in the book and it confused me a bit.

Yes, he can see that he is ok. Doctors hate (young) people who decide do to (illegal) drugs and then can't handle it and and are all paranoid about their health and waste the doctors' time at the hospital. It probably has happened to him before. He's even started scaring the kids so they don't come anymore with their *beep* self-imposed paranoia.
