I have watched the movie several times but just noticed today that Paul used to date Lauren. I didn't catch that before, for some reason I missed it when Shawn mentions it to her in the hallway. I just caught that today when she's like yeah I used to. Does it mention more of the relationship that she and Paul dated in the book? Thanks
shareI'm currently reading the book now and I don't think it has been mentioned so far but it could well be. Especially since it's said to be a love triangle, you don't hear much about that relationship. It's definitely worth reading though, as you catch things you may have missed in the film.
For example, I didn't realise Sean said he wanted to get a "case of beer" and not a "quesadilla" lol. It is also not disappointing as Bret Easton Ellis' writing is completely mirrored onto the screen which I think is a very difficult thing to do well
In the book it is mentioned that Lauren and Paul dated, but it was before the book begins. Not much is said about the relationship.
I really enjoyed the book, but I'm a big fan of BEE's writing. I will read anything he writes.
