In the last car scene with James And Walter. Spoilers

When James wasn't completely sure if what Walter was telling him was true or not, then the shot was fired when walter tried to grab/steal the gun, then the gun was thrown in the back seat, still walter didn't took out his own gun (if he had one)or any lethal object.

Why on earth james opened the door and run off like someone was shooting at him?(Was he trained to handle a situation like this at the farm?) Couldn't he somewhat easily took out walter, not necessarily kill him. But he had the upper hand in this car TILL the second he OPENED THE DOOR AND RUN LIKE A LITTLE GIRL.

Because he had the computer with him and needed to get distance between the computer and Walter so he could hide it (or get away). Running made more sense than close quarters combat where he could get shot, pushed out of the car, and then Walter leaves with the computer.
