Showing in the UK

This has just started to be shown (or I've just found out about it) on UK television. It's on ITV4 on Frday nights at 1.35 a.m.

This week's had Peter Berg, Joey Lauren Adams, Kevin James and Jeanne Tripplehorn who all said something interesting and often very funny. It's not showbizzy, quite behind-the-scenes, although one tends to remember the funny bits and the revelations about famous names. It's well edited so you don't get to see them chewing or rambling. It lasts 35 minutes (with ads) but I could have done with it being longer. I've set TVDrive to record the series: it's something I would watch again from time to time and maybe even force my friends to watch.

This show is very uneven. The one Rod Steiger was on, some moron in a baseball cap kept talking about himself. Still, it must be Favreau who OKs the final cut so he must have decided the moron was more interesting than Steiger.

And while I'm not a huge fan of Darryl Hannah, I thought it was a shame she had to listen to Marilyn Manson going on and on about hotel porn. And Michael Rapaport not only was totally incoherent, but chewed with his mouth open. He was wearing a cap too; it seems to be quite a good indicator of somebody who's not worth listening to. Maybe the episodes with directors are better because actors are so self-obssessed, but then every now and again you get an actor who has something worth saying.

Still, it's worth tuning in to see who's on and some of them are very good. Cheers to Jon Favreau for making it.

I just saw this advertised in the new December Sky magazine for Friday 22nd December at midnight,I saw this post and have checked the Sky onscreen planner but its not there.

Never say never again the Bond movie is in this timeslot - weird?

reply

Yes, I found my recording had the Bond film on too, but they've gone back to showing it on Friday nights, and some other nights too - usually Saturday/Sunday but I've just discovered there was one on last night, Tuesday. Thank goodness for smart recorders.
