What the hell happened? Why won't Amazon re-stock the other seasons?

Like many shows I love dearly I always get on board AFTER the show has been more or less canceled and the networks will only offer sporadic repeats. I can't remember the last time IFC (which I finally got) played an episode of "Dinner for Five" but I remember it was at some ungodly hour and it was one episode.

I looked on Amazon and know they had all the four (five?) seasons on DVD starting in July 2007....three months later, with the exception of season one, they've run out of all the seasons/single episodes and say they don't know when they'll re-stock. WTF??!!! They don't even allow you to download singles online, it seems.

Does anyone know anything about this? Any help would be appreciated.

I got them when they were available. Here is a run down of what happened....

I ordered the DVDs the instant I found out they were available. It was all four seasons for 44 bucks. Then they shipment was delayed. Amazon rose the price up to 60 bucks. I still payed 40.

When it finally arrived some episodes would only play white screens with sound. There were many defects on the discs.

I was then sent, free of charge, replacements for every disc. Plus a 10 dollar certificate.

So now I have extra (somewhat defective) copies lying around. I think its only like 3 episodes missing.

Another bad thing about the DVDs is that they are actually DVD-Rs and kinda of crappily put together.

I guess Amazon pulled them because it was causing too much trouble and many people were unsatisfied.

But hey...if anyone is really desperate for these I sell you my somewhat defective copies.

kinda sucks. i purchased season one from amazon a long time ago and loved it... was waiting for the other seasons to come out and forgot about it when they actually did so i missed it. why they would be dvr copies and not a real dvd set like the first season was is kinda strange...

if they ever actually make a real dvd set of the complete series ... i'll be waiting to buy it.

isnt there anywhere we can find out where? Season one was good, like not too many features or anything, and I wish eps were longer. I see no difference from Enhanced to Normal... does anyone?

Well I hope we can buy the seasons separately, and soon.
