My Overview of Season 10 - It's time to wrap things up.

I know that with this post I'll be labelled as a 'hater' but so be it. Season 10 for me was less than satisfying, to say the least. I love the Boys (specifically Season 1-7 directed by Mike Clattenburg) but this season has shown that they're at their limit (episodes were directed by different members of the cast but not Mike Clattenburg).

Before getting to the whole Pros, Cons and Extras I'd like to focus on the Ending of Season 10. Julian by the end of this season decided to leave Sunnyvale and with that, Ricky and Bubbles, after leaving the park he seemed undecided whether to accept the hitch-hike ride or return to Sunny. But, realistically and ideally it's for the best he'd leave them behind Julian's a smart guy and the two were holding him back plus the whole getting the park -- losing the park and vice-versa has probably got on his nerves too.

Whilst I didn't really enjoy episodes 1-7 I did have a great time watching episodes 8-10 as they were definitely directed and written a lot better than the early ones plus the jokes were actually funny albeit a bit crude. I'll say, if Season 10 had been directed by Mike Clattenburg it'd definitely had been an amazing run.

Now to the Pros and etc:

Pros:
- Randy finally admitted what happened to the baby he had with Lucy (Lucy gave the baby up for adoption)
- Sam tries to always be a good person now (he already was before but the boys kept ruining his life)
- George Green's pun on Ricky's life ~ "Any vegetables around? *Then points to Ricky*"
- Cory and Jacob pretending to play N64 was pretty interesting but with Jacob using a GameCube controller and from the TV it sounded like an Atari game so not too authentic (I know they weren't really playing obviously)
- Randy inserted a big sausage in his mouth all at once.

Cons:
- First episodes of Season 10 last up to 30 mins, then the rest are 20mins, 23mins, 24mins and 27mins (no consistency here clearly)
- The boys are yet again in danger of losing the park (I know it's how the show works but come on, it's been done to death)
- Bubbles offensively insulting Randy, not so much the curse but its tone (as per Bubbles' words -- FÚCKING BITCH!)
- Barb and her Goons
- Candy is freaking annoying (yet the sweet Candy from Season 1 was never to be seen nor heard ever again)
- Ricky-isms aren't funny as they used to be in the older seasons
- J-Roc with the Mexican accent is barely understandable if not for the subs provided by Netflix
- They brought "Your Mom" jokes as if they were comical (maybe for 12 year olds)
- Episodes 1-7 hardly ever cracked something as small as a chuckle from me
- Donna was kind of an interesting for Seasons 8 + 9 but now she's as mean spirited as Barb and Candy

Wasted Potential:
- Last we've seen of Sam he was living in a cave of some sort and got caught so it would have been funny to see him in an asylum or something. Instead, he was running his own dentist clinc.
- Treena never showed up again but it's probably for the best, her parents were a trainwreck.

Here's something some might find 'interesting', Lucy banged not just a few but several dudes: George Green, Cyrus, Randy, Steinberg, Grover, Stewart, Tom, Dean, Ray, Phil Collins and Steve. She didn't bang Tom (Season 10) because he didn't want although he found her to be hot.

I can tell you exactly what Atari 2600 game they were playing.

Todd Frye's 2600 port of

Wait for it

wait for it

PAC-MAN

Yes they were playing the 2600 version of Pac-Man (at least the official one, there has since been a homebrew port for the 2600 that is actually faithful to the arcade)

reply

Pac-Man is one of the reasons what made Atari so great and fun to play so it felt more suitable to state it as Atari than Pac-Man. Despite Atari's in the shítter now their old consoles won't ever be forgotten.

reply

Pac-Man wasn't created by Atari.
Just the 2600 version of it was. The official 2600 version was a prototype and Atari shipped it anyway, and it was terrible. Frye has also admitted that he hated Pac-Man so he didn't do the best job anyway.

reply

Fine, but it was one the ways that Atari became very popular.

reply

Pacman Terrible? Other peoples opinions.

reply

I have an Ipad which has a great Pac Man game available from Bandai-Namco. Free game and works exactly the original. There is also Ms. Pac Man. They also sell other mazes, but I am not that crazy about them and play the classic maze which is free. Not a huge fan of Pac Man now, liked it more back in the day.It is a good game if you are sick of everything else.

reply

Pac-Man on a touchscreen? Can't imagine being too precise as a physical controller / keyboard.

reply

It does feel rather played out at this point, doesn't it? I wouldn't mind a slight retooling of the show rather than end it, but ending it at Season 11 and giving us a great ending with no dangling plot threads would be a good way to go if they choose to do that.

reply

So Season 11 is really happening, huh? 

Trailer Park Boys isn't even the type of gorilla see, gorilla do as they just can't replicate the original seasons' content into the new seasons. Plus, they've clearly forgot what made the show so friggin' great.

I've to say I'll keep on watching TPB original Seasons 1-7 (proudly own all seven seasons on DVD) but I just can't really stand Seasons 8-10 due to not being remotely as good or as funny.

P.S. The scene where it seemed that Ricky was jacking off was meant to be funny but somehow, somewhat it just wasn't delivered properly, imo.

reply

The show is absolutely hilarious and brings a lot of happiness to a lot of people, so no - it's not time to wrap it up.

reply

It was an Xbox controller, Barb being a gangster was hilarious, and Mexican J-Roc was some of the funniest *beep* this show has done. The highly inappropriate your mom joke was also hilarious.

I guess this show just isn't up your alley, but I was laughing my ass off.

reply

It looked like an Xbox controller due to the layout but that was clearly an NGC controller. Just because you can't distinguish the two that's your issue.

Btw, I love TPB Seasons 1-7 but after that the show went to shít.

reply

Well that's your opinion and most would say that you're wrong. Seems like most people thought the last season was hilarious.

reply

It's become a parody of itself. I thought Swearnet was the show they used in real life? Now all of a sudden Swearnet is in the Trailer Park Boys??How did that happen? That right there was strange.

reply

I can't remember which season but the 1st episode starts out that within the show universe that Ricky accidently signed a contract with swearnet giving them access to film their lives again.

So there's the show swearnet and a real life swearnet and they really kinda tried to merge the two together this season.
