Is the show back on track now?

In these Netflix seasons the guys have gotten really comfortable with their own businesses and surrounded by a circus of people. I'm surprised they can still bring the funny every season but I think the show is at it's best when they're struggling and going for the big dirty rather than running casinos and weed stores. And will J-Rock get back to the rap game, will his son go live with his mom...I hope so. Anyway I thought it was a pretty good season. They need to bring Ray and Cyrus (with the flappy bird brothers) back though.

No. At least not for me.

The show got sidetracked starting with Season 8 and up. Plus, you can notice the quality downgrade of the episodes' writing as they weren't directed by Mike Clattenburg. Gosh, never thought I'd miss a director as much as Mr. Clattenburg. 

I agree with you fully on that, but I'm trying to be optimistic.

It was on track, until the celebrity guest stars showed up and polluted everything. Then the season turned to irritating, unfunny garbage.

I'm kind of insulted that the makers of Trailer Park Boys thought that their demographic also enjoys trash like Doug Stanhope, Snoop Dog, and Tom BARF Arnold. Barf.

I thought it was interesting because I'd never seen that in a show before, but now it's like hey if you're famous then come on the show and we'll let you act in it. I liked it better when it had some Canadian entertainer I'd never heard of showing up. It's gotten so Hollywood now and as an American I hate that. Plus the people are looking trailer trash to the max vs the neighborhood it once was. I mean it's a circus, the women look like they're at an ICP gathering. It doesn't feel like they live there, they only party there. Too many extras on set in my opinion. But I'm thankful for every season, don't get me wrong. :)

We've actually had something similar though on Trailer Park Boys before. This isn't the first time they've thrown some crappy "celebrity" on the show as a guest star. They've had third rate, washed up b-stars on and actually managed to make it work.

I DESPISE Sebastian Bach. Yet the season with him might be my all time fav. The way they wrote and executed that was amazing. THey were able to work the "celebrity" guest star in without it overshadowing everything else, they were able to work it in in a creative and funny way(model *beep* trains? haha how did thye even think that up), and we weren't subjected to lengthy bits of him performing or any other crap like that. He felt like a natural addition to the shows storylines and world.

Compare that to the Snoop/Tom Arnold show this season turns into with the late eps. It's completely different. It just feels lazy, contrived, and forced.

Somehow the inclusion of Bach, which revolved around model train conventions and cross border drug smuggling trains, felt more natural and authentic than what season 10 provides. And season 10 is utilizing the whole, "trailer park boys are world famous" crap via the documentary style filmmaking of the show and the casts past appearances in character on the likes of Kimmel to shoe horn in its guest stars. So we have absurd model trains vs real life events, yet the former ends up being better executed and ringing more true. That shouldn't happen, and it goes to show just how awful this trash late in season 10 is.

I agree and the Bach-train convention stuff was awesome. People hate on that season but it's my 1st or 2nd favorite I think, very creative. I've never liked how they've incorporated swearnet into the story either. As a fan yes people will empathize with Tom Arnold and wish they got to rub shoulders with the guys, but them being so famous yet so broke is hard to buy. J-rock also feels like a dead character, I don't know what happened there but it's not funny or even interesting anymore. I understand they want to keep everyone on some folks need to leave the park for atleast a while, maybe show them in jail from time to time.

I finished the season and will say that the final ep was fantastic.

Really it's just eps 7,8,9 that were stinkers. Everything leading up was gutbusting and an improvement over last season, and that final ep was great as well.

Not big on the Lahey revelation.
