The final montage of season 10. SPOILERS

Any comedy that is brave enough to reach out and attempt to pull of a scene or episode intent on making you sad and that succeeds in doing so deserves immense credit imo.

Arguably the most famous scene of any comedy here in the UK is the final scene in Blackadder goes forth where the characters you've spent six episodes laughing with get brutally cut down by German machine gun fire, its an incredibly brave thing to do for any comedy and when done well sits with you for a long time.

I just wanted to say a few words about how well I thought that final montage of the final episode was done. I know Julian had to go as it appears as though it was Barbs stipulation for allowing the others to stay. I get Julian will inevitably return and that in this season he'd done a lot to *beep* over his friends but wow, that was well done.

The look of remorse in his face, the choice of music and sweet jesus the look of disbelief and sadness on Rickys face when he realised his best friend had moved on. It all genuinely moved me. A really surprising and well executed finale.

Not been a fan of seasons 8 and 9 but I thought the extra darkness in this season certainly gave it back some of its edge.

The one thing they did great in Season 10 was definitely the final montage of Julian. Hopefully with Season 11 it'll be the end of the road for TPB because they're trying to milk the series for what it's worth and the originality has dried out. If Season 11 were to have a more serious tone and in a way to see Ricky and Bubbles changing their lives for the better, that would be a good way for the series to end without being too disappointed.

But I digress, Ricky and Bubbles' characters have been wrecked so much so without Julian they feel lost like puppies. Bubbles used to be a really smart guy but not anymore.

I think this season was the best one yet, and the emotional ending really capped it off. They were creative and made it feel new even though it was basically the same plot as every season. If they can find new ways to keep it fresh id love to see it continue.

It was nice to see some of Julian's compassion come back a little bit. Julian has always been a slime bag, but he was often shown to be protective of those he loved. I cannot remember which season it was, but I do remember once he had made a lot of money and paid everyone's lot fees so they did not have to leave the park. He's also gone out of his way to help his friends and protect them. Then again, on the other hand, he has emotionally manipulated his friends, let Ray stay in jail, constantly makes promises he has no desire to keep, and has done some really awful things to those he cares about (like taking Trinity's wedding money, a situation where you can understand why he did it but dang man that is so, so low). Generally at the heart of it all was a deep sense of compassion for his friends, even if he screwed those around him. One example was that entire season where his criminality was just so those he loved could have a cruise vacation for once in their lives. He's actually a rather complex character. The last few seasons have shown him get darker and darker though. Very rarely did we get to see some of the compassion on display. So it was nice to see that he made a sacrifice for those he loves.
