Jeez. This is bad. I wonder if Patrick Roach is the next one to call quits on it although I wouldn't blame him either.

No way is Roach leaving till they all leave. Outside of TPB storyline Roach is one of the main Swearnet guys.

reply

And let's be real: there aren't that many roles for people with no shirt and a huge gut in the industry. So does Roach really have a choice?

Canada has other series (and possibly soap operas) in the works so that could help him expand his horizons as not only an actor but a comedic actor. On top of that, North American series/films could give him a huge boost in popularity if done right.

A Man's Gotta Eat (S04, E02) is by far one of Patrick's best TPB episode! And John Paul Tremblay too. 

Btw, on Heartland there were a couple of cameos that evolved to bigger series, such as Stephen Amell (Arrow, The Flash, the upcoming movie TMNT 2016), Tatiana Manslany (Orphan Black), David Richmond-Peck (Orphan Black -- He's more of a returning villain but still) and Rhys Ward (he was in two episodes of I, Zombie). So I'm guessing he's playing safe than anything else.

Nooooo!

Hope they can sort that out. He's a huge part of the show.

Horrible news

He talks about it on his podcast: http://taggartandtorrens.podbean.com/

That sucks the main swearnazis are too greedy to pay J-Roc what he deserves. He was my favorite part of this show, especially this season.

reply

Do you know that for a fact or are you talking out of your ass? Jonathan Torrens said he just didn't want to do it anymore and there were no hard feelings between him and the others.

reply

Sure, probably have more brains in one cheek than you do in your whole family. Do you think El Snoopo, Tom Arnold, and that useless Doug Benson volunteered their time for free? Being able to name-drop is more important than taking care of your people that were there from day one, who helped build the empire for these greedy folks.

Those three celebrities didn't even add anything to the show, except for Tom Arnold. I would have much rather seen more of JROC than Snoop lion paw dog or bug denson.

It's the same way they used popular american songs in their movies, way out of their league. Paying royalties while keeping their cast poor. Such a shame.

The cast has ALWAYS been poor in terms of talent... that was the appeal of this show. It's what made it different in so many ways... totally unconventional. Most of them have never had another job acting... in anything! I think JP and Rob have had some minor bit parts, Johnathan Torrens has had several roles and John Dunsworth has been in a few things... but the rest are total novices who never have been actors and probably won't be actors after TPB. Cory Bowles may go on to be a successful director, he is talented at that.

Torrens was always out of his league slumming with The Boys. He and Dunsworth will probably go on to bigger and better things... the rest are a wash in terms of acting. Even Rob Wells is awful when he's not playing Ricky.

As for the paying royalties and keeping the cast poor... remember, they do not have a lucrative big time contract with Showcase anymore. They are an Internet TV show, solely dependent on fan support and what little Netflix is kicking their way. Merchandising is probably raking in more than anything and I am pretty sure they all get a cut of that action.

*beep* lame

They should at least get him back for a single episode or two do do a farewell, provide a strong exit for him. A hilarious, bizarre explanation that he got on a subway in NYC while on his way to a boy band concert and was never seen again only works for certain characters.
