Does the acting get better?
Just started season 1. It's painful... Like it was filmed by college students.

shareThose were the early days when Ricky was supposed to stay in Julian's car for 2 days and then it somehow turned to three seasons. lol Now, to answer your question, I suppose you could say you'd need to have a taste for 'awkward' comedy.
Btw, hearing J-Roc say "Sup, honkies?" just cracks me up every time. Jonathan Torrens really nailed the whole gansta-rapper character.
If I were you I would try something really audacious: watch it yourself and then make up your own mind.

Wow bro did you know anything about TPB before you started watching the show? That's what the shoes all about low budget. The show is what it is. It's supposed to look like it was filmed by some low budget documentary crew that has nothing better to do then film some small time, petty criminals that live in a trailer park. You've gotta see it for what it is and that's exactly what your comment is. If you dont like what you saw so far then stop now my man.
shareNewcomers that somehow watch Seasons 8-10 (and even 7) in high definition on Netflix will think that's how the original seasons should be like too but no, you're completely right. The show was originally intended to have that low budget-feel and look to it which it did for six straight seasons but come Season 7 and they went widescreen as well as high def (on Netflix and TV, I think).
shareIt was never supposed to be great, hyper realistic... these aren't realistic people. These are very weird, dysfunctional people. The characters are meant to be abnormal.
As far as "acting" goes, after you watch a few seasons you grow accustomed to the characters and their "characterizations."
