The actor that plays Ray is not dead. His name is Barrie Dunn, and he retired from the series a while back. I'd kill to have him and Trevor back, but it's highly unlikely.
You're right, I was mistaken about that. I could have sworn that he had passed away. My fault. Since he is alive I would definitely love to see him back on the show.
