Mike Clattenburg didn't want the show to become what it is now

He said on an interview featured on the DVD set that he wanted to maintain the show to have that indie, low budget and mockumentary feel whilst not being like the mainstream TV series are.

One can just pretend Seasons 8-10 don't exist and enjoy the original seasons as he directed them, as well as the awesome extras.

reply

Thanks for the tip. One *could* also enjoy it all. Even at the risk of mortally offending others.

reply

I tried to enjoy Seasons 8, 9 and 10 but they all pale in comparison to the original seasons directed by Mike Clattenburg as the show's heart is no longer there.

Btw, Mike was also kind of a dick to Volpe on another interview so I can't say Clattenburg is without faults.

reply

That's a pretty presumptuous statement. How the hell do you know what he wants? Why do you even care? You go into every single thread and say the same thing over and over. We get it. You love Mike Clattenburg. Good for you. Start a fan club. You don't get to speak for him, though. For all you know, he loves the new seasons.

reply

How the hell do you know what he wants?

He said it on the interview.

reply

There's something very childish about needing someone else's opinion to back up your opinion. Coupled with an odd belief that said opinion is correct and warrants repeating again and again.

reply

Yeah but he's on the money.

I've been watching forever and I do not, I repeat, do NOT acknowledge seasons 8-11 exist, I have ZERO idea why I'd want them

reply

So how does Clattenburg explain series 7?

reply

Whatever Mike created this masterpiece but Micke Smith and Jean and Rob truly brought this show with their fame and antics and brought back this show.
It was meant to be more special but they still kept the mockumentary style and the characters always bonding then fighting.
This show is the same to me.
It just gets better now and and still keeps it to that Trailer park style lol.

What season is the one in London? I'm 5 minutes into the first episode and it's horrible. You can tell they've lost what it once was.

reply

You are correct. Season 9 & 10 were bad, also the stand-ups and the new Europe stuff weren't good. Feel's like they are just trying to squeeze every last dollar out of their once fantastic show.
